Small and medium-sized enterprises rely on networking to remain competitive against global players. To create value-adding chains within urban regions, technologies need to be shared and R&D has to be done in co-operation. Public bodies can promote such collaborations through the organisation of networking events, market potential studies and accurate information about future sector developments. Whereas at Gdansk and Bologna those activities will focus on the IT sector, a logistic cluster will be promoted at Leipzig and food processing industries in the South Transdanubian region.
