City Drainage System
Rapid development of city and sub urban, requires better drainage system, this is to prevent flooding during rainy season, and decrease or even eliminate disease cause by bacteria from garbage and dump.
Based on its location of position, we could define city drainage system into two, which are surface drainage and sub surface drainage. As we known, surface drainage is some kind of drainage that appears on the surface, while sub surface, is under the surface. Commonly in big cities, they’re using sub surface drainage considering on location, and safety for pedestrian.
The dump water are consist from industry waste, home waste, or even from nature waste (in case of rain, or flow from the mountain or higher ground). These water eventually will be transfer to the sea.
In some cities, they took advantage of these unused water into drinking water, of course it have to through serial of process before it could be drinkable. The water especially from nature water being used for these purpose.
In order to build city drainage system, there are things should be consider such as below.
Geographic position.
If the city is in higher ground, doesn’t mean they don’t have drainage system, these type of city should have drainage system, and use it as water system, or others, rather then flowing it directly to lower ground to reach the sea. This would help lower ground preventing from flood. While for lower ground, the drainage system should consider, sea tides, so it is important to build water dump.
City Mapping
A good city should consider the expansion or growth of the city itself. The more bigger the city, then the bigger capacity the drainage should hold. So it does require some fixed information between drainage line, and other equipment.
